PSHCE

PSHCE

At Hollington, we believe that Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of the community.  Healthy relationships lead to healthy lives and good well-being.

We feel that active learning is vital to the subject. “We do this through child discussions, investigations, problem-solving and real life situations.

We use the Opening Young Minds, Let’s Talk PSHE scheme. This is supplemented by our Brainwaves' topic, which every child in the school will complete at the start of each year.

For the first few weeks of each school year, our PSHCE and well-being are delivered through the brainwaves unit of IPC.  We consider how we learn and the zones of regulation.  Following that, we pick up and study in depth our 8 personal goals ; respectful, adaptable, ethical, collaborator, communicator, resilience, thinker, enquiry.
